The beauty of simplicity

I do love ‘simple things’ - in food, in my daily life... Where does that need for ‘keeping things simple’ come from? Probably there’s books written about it... Obviously there is a place for people who like ‘fancy things’ - fancy restaurants, fancy clothes, fancy items in their homes... I just don’t understand them. And it seems our ‘You are weird’ perception of each other is reciprocal.

If you ask me if I’d like a fancy meal in a chic restaurant or a bite to eat at a roadside place where I can sit with my legs folded under on my chair and take photos of all things passing, I’d choose the latter. Obviously often this is also a budget choice, but I think that even if it weren't, I’d rather sit in a roadside cafe three times than in a ‘fancy place’ once. I guess we all find comfort in different things. And as I’m typing this I am already ‘itching’ to head off to my favourite weekend hangout - the ‘cafe’ (not really) at the weekly farmer’s market - even beyond simple and yet (or therefore?) super comforting.
