An “Omakase journey” at Tokio Restaurant

Limassol’s Tokio Restaurant Bar had recently treated the local press to an “Omakase journey” - a type of meal consisting of dishes selected by the chef. 

The exclusive restaurant which wished to reintroduce itself to the media, is located on Limassol’s sea front road. It opened its doors in November 2014 and stands out through its unique architecture of a traditional Japanese house. The spacious 2-story building features a restaurant and an outdoor dining area and a bar and VIP rooms on its first floor - all of which are designed and decorated in Japanese fashion.  

About 30 journalists were treated to a special Omakase menu of authentic Japanese dishes prepared by Chef Stephanos Chrysanthou.  Chrysanthou welcomed the media to Tokio Restaurant which he explained aims to present authentic Japanese gastronomy and culture and has lifted the traditional Japanese gastronomic experience to a whole new level of sophistication and luxury. 

The menu featured authentic dishes such as Salmon tartare with avocado and mango, Avocado salad with roasted grapefruit and prawns, Gyoza dumplings with seafood, crispy duck wrapped in pancakes with lemongrass and many more. Finely sliced sea bass with garlic, ginger, chives and yuzu-soy sauce wash flambéed at the table with an explanation of the ingredients by the chef introducing guests to an interesting new concept of flavors. 

Apart from its special cuisine, the restaurant also offers various events and themed evenings throughout the year and a gala dinner for New Year’s Eve and live music on Sundays. Details can be found at
