Oh my dumpling

Did you know that the dough for dumplings, just like that for pasta, is made of flour and warm water and a pinch of salt. Yes, that simple! So you make your dough, roll out little round shapes, fill them with grated then sauteed carrots, cabbage, fresh ginger and sliced onions, garlic and Shitake mushrooms (soaked in warm water for 30 minutes if you use dried ones), season with salt, pepper and sesame oil, 'fold' them back up and boil them for about 15 minutes.

They may not be the prettiest the first time you try them, but they are always delicious!
